Behind the scenes has been a busy place this week too: A new section added for Club Members Only. Normal entry points are from the MENU or the button on the HOME page. Club Members will need to contact me (brian.mw0gkx@ntlworld.com) to set up a User Name and Password for them before they can gain access. Persons applying for access who are not Club Members (I have a list!) will be politely turned away with the option of joining the Club. Some additions to the Glossary. Even more cross references added to the Battery Equivalents. I also edited the Button and Coin Battery Size Chart to make it easier to use (feedback is a wonderful thing, I even act on it too!). Yet more additions to Amateur Radio Microphone Wirings and Microphone Cable Colours, including extra information on the Yaesu FT-857 Mic Socket in CAT mode. A repair, or it could be a project? I've added links to it in both areas! Icom IC-551 AC/DC Power Connection. The Innovators have been joined by a man who inspired Marconi, A Righi. An update to the About Callsigns page, a contribution by a site visitor. Some more Famous Amateurs have been added and a couple of updates to ones already listed where I have discovered more information. The RSGB News audio has been updated.

A busy, busy, busy week "behind the scenes"! | The Personal and Club sites have been fully (I hope!) integrated into just the one site again, if you spot any problems feel free to let me know by emailing me: brian.mw0gkx@ntlworld.com and give details of page, problem etc. I used the original background for this re-build as I had had comments about difficulty in reading text over the faded Club logo, however good it looked overall! Despite all that work I've still managed to get some "stuff" added: Even more cross references added to the Battery Equivalents. Yet more additions to Amateur Radio Microphone Wirings, Microphone Cable Colours and even the and CB Radio Microphone Wirings (seems like I keep repeating myself, repeating myself!). Many Club Information pages have been "tweaked" to bring them up to date and the addition of 2 new pages; What We Do and Joining the Highfields Amateur Radio Club giving further information to prospective members, including membership levels and fees. News added about the introduction of Associate Membership for persons living over 25 miles from Cardiff on the News page. Also a tidy up on the News page with some of the older Club News items moved to the News Archive area and other, lesser, items deleted. The RSGB News audio has been updated. All that plus getting the AGM notices delivered (if a Club member has not had one, let me know at the usual address. I have posted some so they may still be "in the system" but I did deliver Cardiff & Penarth ones by hand to the addresses held on file on Friday). 8 | November 2009
| For the Personal SiteRe-checked the suspect Radio Clubs links and updated / removed bad ones. Added yet more cross references to the Battery Equivalents area and a couple more batteries, with their details pages, that were not on the list.A "new member" to the Innovators, A Alford. Added to the Document Requests area is the user manual, service manual and schematics for the Icom IC-3200A/E. The files will be available for download until the next update on 15 Nov. The ADI manual will stay available until then also due to my email reply to the requester bouncing back (he knows it's there now). A "new" game to play in the Fun & Games area, Pegged!. Started listing the documents that I have for Icom equipment in the Document Requests area. I have over 1500 Icom related files to search through so it will take some time to do them all. For The Club SiteNews was added during the week about the Christmas Party tickets. Not seen it yet? Take a look on the News page. 1 | November 2009
Generally this week I have checked links to other sites. I have updated links, where possible, due to the closure of Geocities hosting service. Where I could not find an updated link to a Geocities hosted site I have removed the reference. Some other references have had links updated to reflect changes at the "other end" and I have made a note of other broken links to check again later, just in case there was a technical problem when I checked this time.
| For the Personal SiteMore radios added to the Microphone Pin Outs for Amateur Radios and Microphone Pin Outs for CB Radios areas. More Microphone Cable Colour Codes too! To the Fun & Games area I have added the Quiz that was a Highfields ARC Club night activity on 20 October and expanded the Street Art Illusions after extensive research based on an e-mail I received from David, MW0MWL, a while ago. Some Recipes have come my way, I have added a few this week, look forward to some more soon. I've also made a change to the recipe index page as well. For The Club SiteSome very bad News about a local repeater group. 25 | October 2009
