World Radio Laboratories manufactured products under the Globe and Galaxy brand names as well as the WRL brand.

Some people say that Galaxy and Globe were model ranges, others say seperate companies. This is what my research has turned up:
• Globe brand, manufactured from 1948, was sold to Textron in 1959.

• Galaxy brand, manufactured from 1962, was sold to Hy-Gain in 1970.

• Various equipment under the WRL brand was available at most times.

WRL, originally Wholesale Radio Laboratories, started life in 1935.
After WWII the name changed to World Radio Laboratories.
World Radio (having dropped the "Laboratories") continued in the retail sector after 1970, eventually being sold off in 1988.

So I've put them all under the one heading with their own entries in the menu all pointing here.
