Q  -  Quebec  -  dah-dah-di-dah


Q signals.

Three-letter symbols beginning with Q. Used on CW to save time and on SSB to improve communication clarity, especially with operators who do not have English as a first language.

QRP.

Ham radio 'Q' signal meaning "reduce(d) power", also in general use to denote the use of low power typically below 5 Watts for CW or 10 Watts for SSB.

QSL card.

A postcard that serves as a confirmation of communication between two stations.


Quad Antenna.

Quarter-Wavelength Vertical Antenna.

An antenna constructed of a quarter-wavelength long radiating element placed perpendicular to the earth.
