J Antenna / J Pole.
A mechanically modified version of the zepp (zeppelin) antenna. It consists of a half-wavelength radiator fed by a quarter-wave matching stub. This antenna does not require the ground plane that ¼ wave antennas do to work properly.
JOTA.
Jamboree-on-the-Air. It is an annual, weekend Scouting and amateur radio event sponsored by the World Scout Bureau of the World Organization of the Scout Movement. Thousands of amateur radio stations around the world participate.
Junction Diode.
An electronic component formed by placing a layer of N-type semiconductor material next to a layer of P-type material. Diodes allow current to flow in one direction only.
