Battery Details.
Do not confuse with the "D" size watch battery, or the AA or C which are also called K4A by other manufacturers. Nor with the CR D series that are Lithium 3 volts but the same physical size.
NiMH rechargeables are available in high capacities which will give long life but the voltage is .3 of a volt less per battery. This compounds with the more batteries used, for example: 6 × 1.5 (9 volts) becomes 6 × 1.2 = 7.2 volts.
