Battery Details.

Do not confuse with the "D" size watch battery.

NiMH rechargeables are available in high capacities which will give long life but the voltage is .3 of a volt less per battery. This compounds with the more batteries used, for example: 6 × 1.5 (9 volts) becomes 6 × 1.2 = 7.2 volts.
