Battery Details.

Possibly the most common size of consumer battery.

New Lithium types are available with considerably more capacity than the earlier Zinc and Alkaline types, but at a higher cost.

NiMH rechargeables are available in 2700 mAh and greater capacities which will give long life but the voltage is .3 of a volt less per battery. This compounds with the more batteries used, for example: 6 × 1.5 (9 volts) becomes 6 × 1.2 = 7.2 volts.
