Battery Details.

Do not confuse with the C or D which are also called K4A by other manufacturers. Nor with the CR AA series that are Lithium 3 volts but the same physical size.

Possibly the most common size of consumer battery. New Lithium disposable types are available with considerably more capacity than the earlier Zinc and Alkaline types, but at a higher cost.

NiMH rechargeables are available in 2700 mAh and greater capacities which will give long life but the voltage is .3 of a volt less per battery. This compounds with the more batteries used, for example: 6 × 1.5 (9 volts) becomes 6 × 1.2 = 7.2 volts.
